6th Simulation Fireworks Competition [Announcement of the results]

Posted date:2025/11/27

Thank you for participating to 6th Simulation Fireworks Competition(live-streamed at November 15th, 2025 on Youtube).
We would like to thank all the creators who submitted their works and everyone who watched the competition.
We announce the results of audience judging and judging committee below.
According to the rules of this competition, Grand Prize is awarded to the author with the highest author evaluation score, calculated by adding up the evaluation scores of each author's work. But, as a result of the judging process, no artist met all of the requirements for Grand Prize, so no one was selected as Grand Prize winner. However, since there is a work that received a high evaluation score, we have decided to temporarily create and award the Grand Work Prize.
Congratulations on winning the awards.

(We will omit honorific titles here.)

Comments from the judges(real pyrocreator A, simulation fireworks creator B, simulation fireworks creator C)

This year's competition sees each competitor's unique style and skills. From simple effects that are very well harmonized with the music, to individual single fireworks that show high evolution. I think the quality and level of the competition is increasing from previous years and, with the evolution of the softwares, more and more possibilities can open up. While the score I gave are high, this is a testimony to the hard work and effort put by the competitors. Each one would have their own unique victory point on one aspect or on the others, so it was very difficult to assign the final scores, so things like choreography, pacing, variety, dynamics, the use of colour, research, external editing, emotional impact (the surprises!) have been taken into account.

*For the relationship between the work numbers below and the works themselves, please refer to the Competitiont program or Competition live streaming archive video.

[No.1](Realistic shell category)
The outlines of the six layers of concentric circles are clearly expressed. By devising a color scheme for the central star, I think the central star will become even more vivid./It looks like the perfect replica of a real five-core chrysanthemum shell. The timings are perfect for a high-quality firework./It is designed to make the core visible clearly. I would like to see some more adjustments to the size of the stars and the thickness of the tail.
[No. 2](Realistic shell category)
The work, which depicts five layers of concentric circles, is well-expressed. The outlines of each layer are a little unclear, so this needs to be corrected./I like the progression that comes towards the end, with the orange strobe and red, which reminds of the Akizakura effect mentioned by Takeo Shimizu in his book./The expression the effct of the rising is excellent. The outer stars and tail are beautifully depicted.
[No. 3](Creative show category)
This is a work that is appealing in its composition, which mainly uses Kowari such as "Shell of shells" and other Pokamono (This is a type of firework that pops in the sky and the stars inside fall softly to the ground). There are many branching effects used throughout the work, which makes it seem a shame that the work loses its contrast./It has a lot of "shell of shells" that remind the multibreak cylindrical shells used for Italian firework show. The use of colour is good to represent the cycle of seasons. /It's beautiful. The author's sensitivity to each season is beautifully expressed. Scenes of the four seasons came to mind.
[No .4](Creative show category)
This is a captivating work, with a launch composition that matches the effect of the background music. I was also impressed by the ingenuity put into each and every firework./I like the use of blue, calm show. The pacing is good, a bit too many fireworks at times, and the single fireworks are very good! There was effort in using post-production editing for the audio, so that it is a good work of research!/The raindrops are expressed as various types of fireworks, and the color selection is excellent and very beautiful.
[No. 5](Ceative show category)
The richness of the colors is captivating, but the launch scene is a bit monotonous and needs some improvement./Post-production spotlight effects is a novelty! Good work. The Time-lag colour shells look good./The music and the fireworks display matched perfectly, creating a sense of unity. The color changes over time were amazing. The lighting decorations were also effective and made a great accent.
[No. 6](Realistic shell category)
The four layers of concentric circles are clearly expressed in this work. If the main star could be delayed a little longer before it turns red, it would be perfect./It looks very, very interesting. It looks simple, but has a beautiful progression. I especially like the contrast with cold blue and red external colours./The color combination is beautiful.
[No. 7](Creative shell category)
The smile is well expressed. The subtle shift in the timing of the sub-shells makes it feel more realistic./I want to see this firework in real life!/The timing of the explosion of the rising effect and sub-shells is excellent. It's a fun work to watch.
[No. 8](Creative shell category)
This work expresses the five-core structure of the creative shell well. It is a work that I would like to try making in real life./The use of different colour variations for blue is great. Imagine seeing this firework on a snowy land. It reminds me of winter. A "flower of ice"./The sound had a three-dimensional feel, and the combination of neutral blue colors was wonderful.
[No. 9](Creative show category)
The music used in this work expresses a relaxed autumn scene. If the continuous beats of the launch of including core shell at the end had been a little more elaborate, the swaying and dancing colors mentioned in the title would have been given more depth./I like the use of autumnal colours. Interesting final shells that evolve/The way the wings sway and dance is expressed is wonderful. Even though it is CG, I could feel the pleasant breeze.
[No. 10](Creative show category)
It's a dynamic work that captivates. I would have liked to see a performance with more comets and mines./The first time I see a show that uses pulses of light like this! Congratulations for the idea./The work is just over two minutes long and is filled with unforgettable moments. The timing is meticulously adjusted, and I can really feel the effort put into it by the author.
[No. 11](Creative show category)
I was impressed by the movement of the fireworks, which looked just like real fireworks. To be honest, I was amazed./This show surprised me. It is simple, slow and the pacing is in harmony with the music. The time-lag evolving happozaki shell is incredible./There is a sense of nostalgia in the work, which matches the title well. The scene or memory that the author conjured up is conveyed warmly through the work.
[No. 12](Creative shell category)
The changes of the stars are excellent. If the rings were simply arranged, the movement of the stars might be easier to see./I want to see this in real life. Beautiful evolution and pastel colours. There is a lot of effort that has been put into this firework./The timing and expression of the time difference between the core and outer stars is excellent.
[No. 13](Creative shell category)
The colorful color scheme and star placement are amazing. I would love to make one./Colourful! The arrangement of coloured stars in the firework is impressive./The sense of distance between the cluster of stars and the different colors is exquisite and beautiful.
[No. 14](Creative show category)
I was fascinated by this work, which made the most of the characteristics of the music used. If they could add more parts that launch in time with the rhythm, the score would be even higher./Truly something that would belong in the Liyuan sky theatre. There are a lot of effects here./The composition and the development of the fireworks display are fantastic.
[No. 15](Creative show category)
I thoroughly enjoyed the fantastical world. If you could just improve the finish of the gradient shells a little more, I would be very satisfied./I like the use of dimmed to light comets and effects. Beautifully linked to music syncronization./The golden willows, brocade, and beautiful colors. And the three-dimensional time-delayed fireworks. The fantasy world view that can only be expressed with CG is conveyed. It's wonderful.
